We are all famliar with the notion of drinking the Kool-Aid.  It comes from that Jim Jones cult down in Guyana that passed out cyanide laced Kool-Aid.

Given some of the antics of politicians and others I think we need to go a step further.  If you are about to do something dumb, and moreover, you are in a hurry to do it, you are Eating the Kool-Aid.  There is no time to get the water, you got to down that Kool-Aid dry. 

Examples might be invading a foreign country that turns out to be no threat to us or appointing your plumber as a  justice of the supreme court, or suggesting urgent changes to social security that absolutely nobody wants. 

 Many of the weddings that happen in Hollywood also come to mind.   If you were going to get divorced 24 hours later, why bother....
